Petrol prices plunge to lowest level in more than a decade
Fayette motorists travelling this weekend will be
paying nearly 15 cents less per gallon for regular unleaded
gasoline than they did in December of last year.
The AAA Auto Club South December Fuel Gauge
Report shows that the average price for self-serve regular
unleaded gasoline decreased 2.5 cents this month to 85.8 cents
per gallon from the November price of 88.3 cents per gallon.
"Due to the continued economic crisis in Asia and
Russia, and the resulting oversupply of crude oil on the world
market, average gasoline prices to their lowest level in over a
decade," said Yoli Buss, director of traffic safety. "Georgia
motorists will continue to enjoy the gift of lower gas prices
throughout the holiday season."

95.8 cents per gallon, while premium fell 2.5 cents to an
average $1.06 per gallon.
Locally, Fayette's gas prices continue to be well
below average. Regular unleaded has sold for as low as 69.9 cents
a gallon this month.
