It doesn’t cost you anything to be kind, and a group at Oak Grove Elementary loves sharing the wealth. The Kindness Club has been busy spreading warmth and smiles throughout their school.
The Kindness Club is composed of Braves in Natalie Whitson’s 5th grade class, and its purpose is to spread kindness and joy to their entire school community. Among their activities are visits to Pre-K twice a month to read or create a craft with their buddies, greeting students in the car rider line, writing encouraging notes to teachers and staff, and random acts of kindness.
“I hope that the students in my class notice the impact that a single act of kindness can have on someone. I want them to feel the joy that comes when showing kindness to others,” said Whitson. “My ultimate hope would be that every child in my class would leave here and continue the journey of always looking for a way to spread kindness to those around them.”
