School system increases pay rate for substitutes

Make a difference in the lives of students and be a substitute teacher. Now, the decision to get involved is easier than ever as Fayette County Public Schools announces an increase in pay rate for substitute teachers.

As an added incentive, substitutes who work more than 40 days in a school year will have their rate increased by $20 per day.

Interested persons can apply online at www.fcboe.org by clicking “Substitute Services” under “Quick Links.”

Daily Substitute Teacher Rates:

Valid Teaching Certificate (Any State) – $100 (increased from $85)

Expired Teaching Certificate (Any State) – $95 (increased from $80)

Any amount of college, no teaching certificate – $95 (increased from $80)

Former parapro of Fayette County Public Schools with para license – $95 (increased from $80)

Long Term Substitute Teacher Rates:

Valid Teaching Certificate (Any State) – $115 (increased from $100)

Expired Teaching Certificate (Any State) – $110 (increased from $95)

Four Year College Degree – $110 (increased from $95)

Paraprofessional daily rate will continue to be $75 per day.

Long term substitute paraprofessional rate will continue to be $80 per day.

Critical pay for long term substitutes in selected subjects and fields will continue to be $170 per day.
