County planning staff are recommending that Fayette County commissioners at the Dec. 13 meeting not object to two annexation requests pertaining to Peachtree City. One of those requests deals with 30 properties off Ga. Highway 54 on Peachtree City’s east side.
The owners of Peachtree City East Shopping Center, Governors Square and Peachtree Court commercial and office space, along with property for a proposed subdivision, previously requested annexation.
Commissioners voted to object to the annexation on Aug. 23.
Planning and Zoning Director Pete Frisina said the applicant amended the request dealing with the 48.8-acre residential component, noting that the proposal now calls for one-acre lots, which is the same density for that location in the unincorporated area.
The 30 properties total 105.45 acres.
Also at the meeting, commissioners will consider the annexation of a 43.47-acre unincorporated island into Peachtree City’s northwest side. The property is situated along Senoia Road and is adjacent to the west village area.
County staff are recommending that commissioners not object to the annexation request.
