Benjamin Latham, a Naval Air Crewman–Rescue Swimmer 3rd Class from Peachtree City, was recently selected as Sailor of the Day. He is currently attached to the USS Enterprise on a six-month deployment.

Latham, assigned to the “Dragonslayers” of Helicopter Anti-Submarine Squadron (HS) 11, joined the Navy three years ago to carry on his family’s military heritage and have a job he can put a great deal of pride and professionalism into.

To Latham, the most rewarding aspect of his job is knowing that on a daily basis people’s lives may depend on how well he can perform his duties.

Latham is working hard to advance to AWR2, become fully qualified as a level III sea/strike combat air crewman and finish his degree in public relations.

Latham enjoys crossfit training, swimming, running, watching movies and college football when not at work. He is a 2006 graduate of Starr’s Mill High School and attended Gordon College. His parents are Mike and Ann Latham of Peachtree City. He joined the US Navy in August 2008.
