The proposal to construct the access bridge of the CSX tracks came in December, but needed additional legal review before returning to commissioners for a vote on Feb. 6. The CSX line runs through a portion of the Bridgeport property along Old Highway 29.
Coweta commissioners last summer approved the development agreement for a portion of the massive Bridgeport industrial development along Hwy. 29 adjacent to I-85 on Newnan’s south side.
While Bridgeport encompasses approximately 1,000 acres, the development agreement is specific to the 684-acre area identified as Tract A, located on the west side of Hwy. 29.
Bridgeport is intended to be developed as a mix of industrial warehouse, distribution and manufacturing facilities and/or commercial or office uses, subject to market demand, the development agreement said.
Situated on 11 lots, Tract A plans show a total of 8.31 million sq. ft. of industrial space. Of that, the smallest lot shows a potential building of 153,000 sq. ft., while three other lots show facilities ranging over 1 million sq. ft. each.
The 684-acre tract includes 575.5 acres of buildable space.
