Newnan-Coweta Habitat for Humanity will be hosting its inaugural Tin Cup Golf Tournament Tuesday, May 23, at 10 a.m. at Planterra Ridge Golf Club in Peachtree City.

Registrations and sponsorships are available online at www.nchfh.org. Individuals can register a single golfer or foursome online with a major credit card, or download a registration form to pay by check or have their company invoiced.

Inspired by the 1996 movie “Tin Cup,” NCHFH’s Tin Cup Golf Tournament is a test of golf skills and coordination. During the 18-hole tournament, nine of the shots will use “alternative equipment” — using a baseball bat for a drive, putting with a billiard cue stick, or hitting a fairway shot with a shovel, just to name a few.

A limited number of mulligans will be available and prizes and stroke awards will be given for those who can execute shots. Players are guaranteed to have bragging right for months to come so this will be a tournament you don’t want to miss.

All proceeds support NCHFH’s affordable housing efforts in Coweta County.
