Beware of huge hidden costs of Fayetteville rezoning

I am a relatively new resident of Fayetteville from the suburbs of Chicago. I lived in Park Ridge, Illinois for 50 years.

In that time, all the baby boomers were having babies and we invested millions of dollars into new elementary, middle and high schools. Many of the elementary schools and middle schools are now either empty or torn down. We have a full high school that has been sitting empty for years.

My point is be careful about expanding a large number of housing units without considering the huge expense in infrastructure and schooling. The cost to our community could be enormous, all to enrich a developer who will leave our community a big bill in money and lifestyle.

Why not insist on developing the land to fit into the lifestyle that already exists in this fine community?
