The annual Emerging Writers Showcase is coming to the Fayette County Public Library March 25 at 1 p.m. This year’s program, designed to appeal both to general readers and to current or aspiring writers, features a panel of five up-and-coming authors from the local area. Each writer will give a short presentation, answer questions from the audience, and sell and sign books. Admission is free, and complimentary light refreshments will be served.

David W. Allman has written “Acorns to Wheat,” a work of adult historical fiction set in 4040 BCE. He lives in Peachtree City.

Angie Gallion has published “Intoxic” and “Purgus,” the first two volumes in a fiction series for adults. She lives in Fayette County.

Diane B. Morris presents her book, “Build Your Confidence Through Wardrobe, Color and Style.” It is a practical guide designed to help busy professionals uncover and release their true selves from the inside out. Diane is a Fayetteville resident.

Darrell Pone is a retired physician whose “We’ve Come This Far by Faith” is an inspiring story of how he persevered in spite of his cerebral palsy to achieve success and professional fulfillment. He lives in Fayetteville.

Jalisa Rose Smith of Fayetteville has written “In His Absence I Can Still Feel His Presence,” a picture book about a young girl experiencing grief and loss at the death of her father.

The event is free and open to the public. Proceeds from the sale of books at the Emerging Writers Showcase benefit the Friends of the Fayette County Public Library, the nonprofit group whose sponsorship makes this event possible, along with many other library programs and services throughout the year.

The Fayette County Public Library is located behind the Fayette County administrative complex in downtown Fayetteville, at the southwest corner of highways 85 and 54. For additional information, please contact the library at 770-461-8841.
