Members of the Newnan-Coweta Chamber of Commerce made a special request at the Nov. 9 meeting of the Coweta County Board of Education. Chamber chairman-elect Vicki Kaiser (at podium) was joined by chamber administrators and board members in asking school board members to continue the Education SPLOST (1-cent sales tax) when it expires in June 2012. Superintendent Blake Bass said the school system is currently working on a facilities plan for later submission. “We do need industry and business to continue to have this be a great place to work and live,” Bass said.
