The largest music retailer in the country, Music and Arts, has selected Dana Lamb-Schaubroeck, a music teacher at Flat Rock Middle, as one of 25 national semifinalists in the company’s new Music Educator of the Year recognition program.

The program aims to honor music teachers who exemplify outstanding achievements in music education. The winner will receive a plaque, $1,000 Music and Arts credit, and a feature article published on MusicArts.com.

“What an honor to represent Flat Rock in this way. This acknowledgement is a nod to our county and my administrators who have always supported my program and my ‘let’s try this’ way of doing things,” said Lamb-Schaubroeck.

The winner will be announced Dec. 17 during the 69th Annual Midwest Conference in Chicago. Music and Arts president Steve Zapf will present the award.

Lamb-Schaubroeck is the only semifinalist from Georgia.
