Nearly two dozen representatives from economic development organizations across the state on Nov. 1 got a look at the potential for locating business and industry in Fayette County.
Fayette County Development Authority (FCDA) Vice President of Economic Development Emily Poole said the Nov. 1 visit to Fayette County gave the 20 people attending the opportunity to learn firsthand the many benefits of choosing Fayette County as a prime location for business and industry. FCDA sponsored the event.
Those attending included representatives from the Georgia Department of Economic Development, Georgia Power, Georgia EMC, the Metro Atlanta Chamber, along with several site consultants attended, Poole said.
“These project managers and economic development professionals select economic development projects to bring to communities such as Fayette County and are critical to FCDA’s mission to increase economic development opportunities in Fayette County,” Poole said.
The delegation spent the day touring available sites and buildings, historic amenities and new mixed-use developments. The tour also showcased companies that have relocated or expanded in Fayette County, to underscore why Fayette County is a prime location for business, said Poole.
Poole said the attendees left with an appreciation of Fayette County, its quality of life, education, highly skilled labor force and the variety of excellent sites for business opportunity.
“By educating these partners on our community assets, the hope is that the project managers and economic development professionals will bring the desired prospective companies to the community in the future,” said FCDA Chairman Darryl Hicks.
