Hopewell United Methodist Church in Tyrone invites the community to participate in its “Stop Hunger Now” event to be held on Saturday, Sept. 24, at 10 a.m., at the Robert J. Burch Elementary School, 330 Jenkins Road in Tyrone.
Participants at the event will package 13,400 meals to be sent overseas to help combat hunger. The event usually takes only about an hour, if enough participants take part.
This is the fourth time Hopewell has sponsored the event and the first time it will be held at Burch.
Each dehydrated package contains enough food and nutrients to feed a family of four.
