Eleanor Birdine Snyder Corbin, 94, formerly of Mount Union and Huntingdon, Pa., died on July 21, 2016, in Newnan, Ga, following complications of a fall. She resided at Azalea Estates, Fayetteville, Ga, for the last 6 years. Born in Mount Union, Eleanor was the daughter of former sheriff Blair Meade Snyder and Anna-Birdine Gamble Snyder. A graduate of Mount Union High School she excelled in business studies and was a talented pianist playing in the orchestra and jazz band. She was the typist and proofreader for the school newspaper. Prior to her marriage to the late Horace R. Corbin, Jr. she was employed as a secretary in Philadelphia, Pa. Eleanor was a member of the Mount Union Presbyterian Church.
She is predeceased by her parents, husband, one daughter, two brothers, her twin sister and two sisters. Survivors include her daughter Eleanor “Honey” Corbin (Douglas Dancz), Peachtree City; sons Horace Corbin and David Corbin, both of Garwood, N.J.; grandson Benjamin (Lauren) Corbin; great grandchildren Brooke and Jake Corbin, Scotch Plains, N.J.; along with several nieces and nephews in Pennsylvania.
A memorial service is planned for a later date in Pennsylvania.
