Flat Creek Road will be closed at the bridge by the golf course Saturday, Dec. 19, to allow the city’s contractor to make substantial repairs to the bridge decking. The road should reopen on the morning of Wednesday, Dec. 23.

Spear Road will remain closed to through traffic at the bridge and culvert that washed out last month until the project has been completed, which is expected to take 30-45 days once the contract has been awarded (contract award is on the Dec. 3 City Council agenda).

The Peachtree City Water and Sewerage Authority (WASA) has contracted with Enviro Trenchless, LLC, to rehabilitate and repair manholes throughout Peachtree City through the spring of 2016. The project encompasses more than 170 manholes with failing infrastructure and defects. Crews began work the week of Nov. 16 in the Morallion Hills Basin. There will be a temporary cart path closure just past the playground at Holly Grove Road and Aster Ridge to Ambrose Lane during the middle of the week. Crews generally work from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. weekdays and trucks are identified as PCWASA contractors.

The contractors begin work this week upgrading and reinforcing the cell tower at City Hall. The drive around the Library should not be significantly impacted, but residents are asked to stay out of the fenced are and marked safety zones during this project. The work should be completed in January.

The WASA will be conducting rehabilitation work to the sanitary sewer lines from Hwy 74 to Wildwood Ct. and to Briarwood Court in the Clover Reach neighborhood, and from Sierra Dr. to Aviation Way. The work will start during this week and should be finished by January, depending on weather. There will be some temporary road closures during the construction. Work will generally be conducted from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. weekdays. For additional information, visit www.pcwasa.org.

Construction is underway on the Continuous Green-T intersection on Hwy. 54 West at Line Creek. The early work will be done between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. to avoid the heaviest traffic times. Once milling and paving begin, work may also be done at night after the high-traffic times. Please expect some delays during this project, which will be completed by February, and drive with care when workers are present.

The developer is installing sewer lines for Everton along the MacDuff Parkway right-of-way. This is only for the first section of MacDuff, not the complete roadway construction. Sections of path may have to close temporarily during this project, which should be completed by the end of September (depending on weather). Please stay out of construction zones.

Atlanta Gas Light will be replacing lines along Robinson Road between Whitfield Run and McIntosh Trail.

The Peachtree City Recycling Center is partially closed for construction and is currently only accepting e-waste and yard waste. The Recycling Center remains open on Wednesday afternoons and Saturdays for these items only. Residents may drop off other recyclables at the McIntosh Trail recycling station by Public Works (open all hours).
