The pageant, which is the annual fundraiser for the SMHS drama department, is now the largest high school pageant of its kind in the nation.

The pageant will be emceed by drama teacher and pageant director David Spearman and the current Miss Starr’s Mill and reigning Miss Georgia Outstanding Teen Abigail Feltner.

On the two preliminary nights, the contestants will be divided into two groups. On Thursday, Group A will compete in talent, while Group B will compete in casual and evening wear. On Friday, the groups will swap events. Preliminary winners will be named for each category each night.

Saturday afternoon, all 29 contestants will meet with the judges’ panel for a 7-minute interview.

Then, Saturday evening, the top ten semifinalists will be announced, and they will once again compete in talent, casual wear and evening gown.

After the three onstage events, the top five will be announced, and each of those finalists will answer a question live on stage. The judges will then cast their final ballots, and the new Miss Starr’s Mill will be crowned.
