As we near the third full weekend in September, the little community of Inman, GA is gearing up for their 29th Annual Inman Farm Heritage Days. The three-day event will take place September 18-20, 2026, with gates opening at 9AM every day for the public.
Come out with the whole family and check out the many exhibits on display, demonstrations taking place, and vendors selling their wares. It’s free to enter and free to park. There will be people selling $5.00 souvenir programs as you near the parking areas as well as in the General Store that help to offset the costs of the show.
The United Nations declared 2026 the International Year of the Woman Farm, and to commemorate this special designation, the cover features 13 incredible women who have strong ties with Inman, Inman Farm Heritage Days, and agriculture.
The commemorative buttons this year feature one of Inman’s newer exhibitors and friends, Ms. Georgia Carter, of Baxley, GA. She and her family bring several tractors to display at the events in Inman and also have provided the grounds with several loads of gravel and laborers to help us out.
Inman’s showground area also has a couple of updates since the last events on the farm. This is thanks to the many volunteers who come out to support the Heritage Days and the Minter family alike. Recently, the Heritage Days group held a workday to get things built, cleaned up, and ready for the upcoming event. There were more than 30 individuals who came out to help the Minter family get prepared.
“We are truly blessed to have so many folks who love the shows like we do,” Stephanie Adamek, co-host and CFO to Inman Farm Heritage Days, Inc. “Often, the projects that we come up with are dreamed up with a lot of passion, a short timeline, and a lot of anxiety on how we will get it done in time.
“Inman’s people, the folks who we now call family, help us to make the dreams come true every time,” Adamek stated. “More often than not, the projects are spur of the moment and we’re rushing to finish in time. But, without fail, it gets done.”
Completed in time for this year’s event, the Wayne Martens Blacksmith Shop received a much-needed upgrade and expansion that now includes many pieces of equipment donated by Mr. Wayne himself. The Carden’s Garage exhibit, a replica honoring the late Bub Carden, is another exhibit that was completed in record time.
“Before I even realized it, the project was done,” Adamek recalled. “It went so smoothly and everyone pitched in to get it ready in time for the show.
“I think it was a project everyone was equally excited about. Mr. Bub was a great man and was well-loved by those who knew him. I think he’d be happy to know we have this on the grounds now.”
More equipment has made its way to Inman for their dirt-moving exhibit. A Bucyrus-Erie crane with a Quick Way shovel was purchased from Stacey and Naomi Smith out of Pendleton,SC. Stacey agreed to come and operate some of the equipment during the show.
Earlier this year, Rick and Joanne Minter purchased a 1928 Rumely Oil Pull Model X from long-time friend and exhibitor, John Walls, that is featured on this year’s IFHD t-shirts.
Alongside this large iron-wheeled tractor is another “exhibit” new to the grounds – Lady Liberty.
Inman now has its very own Statue of Liberty on display for all to see.
“I have always admired the Statue of Liberty the city of McRae, GA has on display,” Rick Minter said. The statue in McRae, GA was erected to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the Statue of Liberty ‘s residence in America.
McRae’s statue is a unique work of art. It’s made up of recycled “junk” found around town by the blue-collar people of the town – a stump from a nearby swamp for her base and an electrical lineman’s glove to hold her cypress tree torch to name a few things.
“It was always something I wanted to have here in Inman too,” Minter said. “Now, we have our own version of her – although she’s not as creatively crafted as McRae’s.”
