For many young athletes, the opportunity to play competitive baseball is determined by more than talent, dedication and a love for the game. The growing costs of uniforms, tournament fees, equipment, training and travel can create barriers that prevent talented players from reaching their full potential.
PawSox Elite Youth Foundation Corporation is working to change that.
The Fayette County-based nonprofit organization is dedicated to creating opportunities for young athletes through baseball, mentorship, scholarships, equipment assistance, training opportunities and positive youth programming. At the heart of its mission is a simple belief: a child who has the talent, work ethic and desire to play baseball at an elite level should never be locked out of the sport because of financial circumstances.
That mission will be on full display at the PawSox Elite Community Bash, taking place Saturday, October 17, 2026, from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Tyrone Recreation Center.
The family-friendly fundraiser is designed to bring together youth athletes, families, local businesses and community supporters for an afternoon of fun while raising awareness and financial support for the Foundation’s work.
More Than Baseball
PawSox Elite believes youth sports can provide children with lessons that extend far beyond the baseball field.
Through competitive baseball and mentorship, the organization seeks to help young athletes develop discipline, confidence, accountability, teamwork and resilience. The Foundation also recognizes that access to higher-level youth baseball can become increasingly expensive as players advance.
Rather than allowing a family’s financial circumstances to determine whether a talented child can continue competing, PawSox Elite Youth Foundation seeks to help bridge that gap.
Funds raised through the Community Bash will support the Foundation’s efforts to expand opportunities for young athletes, including assistance with baseball-related expenses, equipment, training, scholarships and other youth development initiatives.
Coaches Investing in the Next Generation
An important part of PawSox Elite’s impact comes from the coaches who dedicate their time to developing young players both on and off the field.
Coaches Demarco Yancey, Tristan Searles, and Floyd Dedeaux work with PawSox Elite athletes to develop their baseball skills while emphasizing the character, discipline and work ethic required to succeed.
Their investment represents what PawSox Elite hopes to build throughout the organization: an environment where young athletes are challenged to become better baseball players while also being surrounded by adults committed to their growth.
For the organization, success isn’t measured solely by wins and losses. It is also measured by whether players are learning how to work hard, respond to adversity, support their teammates and believe in what they are capable of accomplishing.
Bringing Fayette County Together
The Community Bash is also an opportunity for PawSox Elite to connect its mission with the broader Fayette County community.
The indoor event will feature family activities, games, local vendors, youth-focused activities, entertainment and opportunities to learn more about the businesses and organizations supporting local families.
The PawSox Elite Community Bash will be held Saturday, October 17, from noon to 4 p.m. at the Tyrone Recreation Center at 145 Commerce Dr, Tyrone GA 30290.
Ultimately, the Community Bash represents the same principle that drives the Foundation: when a community invests in its children, it gives them more opportunities to succeed.
