A fundraiser to help the Randy Bounds family is today at 6 p.m. at 383 Fayette Place in Fayetteville. The family has suffered several tragedies and the community is staging the event to help the family. For more information call Vanda Hawkins  at 770-842-46A4.

A free concert is today at 3 p.m. “Music From The Big Screen,”is presented by the Peachtree Wind Ensemble, featuring selections from:  “2001 A Space Odyssey,” “Fantasia,” “The Lion King,” “Star Wars,” “Schindler’s List” and more. The concert is at Flat Creek Baptist Church in Fayetteville.

The Piedmont Newnan Hospital Fitness Center will host the seventh annual Autumn Chase today at Newnan Utilities’ Carl Miller Park in Newnan. The Autumn Chase Trail Race, which supports the fitness center’s community fitness programs, consists of a 15k (9 miles) and 5k (3.2 miles) race. The 15k begins at 8 a.m., the 5k will begin at 8:30 a.m., a one-mile fun run will start at 9:15 a.m., and a tot trot at 9:30 a.m. Those interested in supporting the event but not participating in the races can enjoy activities for the entire family, including a Kids’ Castle park, sponsor giveaways and more.
Registration details: $30 registration fee. One-mile fun runners and kids ages 12 and under can participate for $10. Phantom Runner registration fee is $20. Participants may register online atpiedmont.org/autumnchase or at the Piedmont Newnan Fitness Center. Awards will be given to overall winners (male and female) and first, second and third place finishers in all age groups. The Piedmont Newnan Hospital Fitness Center is open to individuals aged 14 and older and focuses on disease prevention, rehabilitation of injuries and maintenance of optimal health. Located at 26 West Court Square in Newnan, the fitness center offers a variety of group exercise programs, personal training, a senior wellness program, rehabilitation assistance, massage therapy and more. The South Metro Rose Society meets at 6:30 p.m. at the Heritage Bank in Fayetteville. All guests are invited to attend free of charge. This month’s program features Master Rosarian, Ryan Tilley, speaking on “Newer Rose Varieties and a New Way of Trying Them Out.”
Tilley has been in the rose business for almost 23 years, is owner of “Rose Gardens by Ryan” and publisher of “The Georgia Rose,” a quarterly rose newsletter distributed throughout the Southeast. His personal rose garden has been featured on the Atlanta Botanical Garden’s Connoisseur Tour and past American Rose Society National Conventions held in Atlanta. Ryan cares for over 70 rose gardens including several award-winning gardens. Come learn from the expert who has a reputation as the rose man of Atlanta! Wellspring Living is looking forward to hosting its 10th annual 5K, Run for ONE, today at 8:30 a.m. at The Bridge Community Center in Peachtree City. Following the success and growth of their previous 5K races they are expecting their biggest turnout to date. Wellspring Living have a vibrant history of engaging communities in the issues of sexual exploitation. During their previous eleven 5K races, Wellspring Living have attracted more than 3,500 cumulative runners and volunteers, raising over $250k to support women and girls who have been sexually exploited.
This year, participants can signup at WellspringLiving.org/RUN to secure their place in this years Peachtree City Run For One 5k.  Get a team of 12 together to run, walk, or be a phantom runner, and registration is only $25. Must be registered by October 15.

The Southern Crescent Storytellers, a cluster group of the Southern Order of Storytellers, will present a Tellabration of stories for all ages at the Peachtree City Public Library, Floy Farr Room from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.
Sponsored by The Friends of the Peachtree City Library, admission is free and refreshments will be served. Long-time Fayette County citizens and professional storytellers will relate tales about our county’s past. Hear stories about Brooks, Peachtree City, Fayetteville, and all of the county’s charming and historic towns. The Southern Crescent Storytellers are a dedicated group of talented people who are committed to the arts in south Metro Atlanta, to the advancement of children’s literary accomplishments, and to helping make storytelling once again an integral part of culture and entertainment in Georgia and the Southeast. The Friends of The Peachtree City Library, Inc. is a volunteer organization and a non-profit corporation whose mission is to promote community support for the Peachtree City Library and its programs.

The sixth annual Bedford Dasher 5K run/walk and 200m Elf Run at The Bedford School in Fairburn is today. Awards will be presented to age group and overall race winners and participants will receive a long sleeved race T-shirt. The 5K begins at 9 a.m. and the 200m children’s Elf Run  starts at 8:45 a.m. with packet pick up/race day registration beginning at 7:30am.
