Over the past couple of years, it appears that Senoia has become the unofficial zombie capital of the world.

Every weekend you can catch people exploring the streets of Senoia seeing the scenes made famous by shows like AMC’s “The Walking Dead.” This October though, the streets of Senoia will be different. Now fans will have the chance to see if they could survive a zombie outbreak!

October 11 is the first ever Senoia Zombie Run. The run benefits the Barker + One adoption fund. Runners will run throughout the backdrop of movie and tv sets such as “The Walking Dead,” “Drop Dead Diva,” “Fried Green Tomatoes” and many more.

This run is not like most 5Ks. Every participant will get a flag belt and try to make it through the zombie herds with all of their flags in-tact. Make it to the end of the 5K with all of your flags and you survived!

Race organizer Shelby Barker said, “We got the idea hearing so many people talking about whether or not they could survive a zombie uprising. We thought; let’s give these people a chance to prove it. We are really excited about the race. It’s a special opportunity to spotlight Senoia and bring people together for a fun unique experience.”

The cost is $45 for a runner and $25 to be a zombie. Race day sign-in begins at 7 a.m. and the race starts at 8 a.m.
