Ms. Kathryn Colon of Fayetteville and Mr. and Mrs. Hector L. Colon of Fayetteville announce the engagement of their daughter, Laura Elizabeth Colon to Lucas John Baker, son of John and Joanne Baker of Bolingbrook, Ill.
The bride-to-be is the granddaughter of Merle Lewis and the late Frank Lewis of Austin, Texas and the late Lucila and Luis Colon of San Juan, Puerto Rico.
Laura is a 2004 graduate of Fayette County High School in Fayetteville and a 2008 graduate of Loyola University Chicago with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Advertising/Public Relations. She is pursuing a M.S.W. in Leadership Development at Loyola University Chicago with an expected graduation date of 2017. She is employed at Loyola University Chicago in the Advancement Division.
The groom-elect is the grandson of Faye and John Considine of Chicago, Ill. and the late Yvonne and William Baker of Peru, Ill..
Lucas is a 1998 graduate of Benet Academy in Lisle, Ill. and a 2007 graduate of Ohio State University where he received a degree in Political Science. He is employed as an In-House Account Representative at Enterprise Rent-A-Car.
The wedding will be November 8, 2014 at Madonna della Strada Chapel at Loyola University Chicago.
The couple will reside in Chicago, Ill. after their honeymoon.
