Crabapple Lane Elementary is the latest of seven schools in the county to receive a grant from Kroger’s Atlanta Division as part of its 2012-2013 Earning Plus Learning Program.
Collectively, the seven grant recipients earned $12,100 that can be used to help purchase needed items and equipment for the schools.

The annual contest invited schools to creatively describe their efforts to “Go for the Gold” throughout the school year in terms of diversity, nutrition, exercise, fair play and helping others. Schools submitted their creative entries in the form of scrapbooks, photos, videos, essays, student drawings, and more.

Crabapple Lane was awarded a $1,800 grant for its scrapbook submission.
The other schools that received grant awards are Peachtree City Elementary ($2,500), Peeples Elementary ($1,800), Braelinn Elementary ($1,600), J.C. Booth Middle ($1,600), North Fayette Elementary ($1,600), and Sara Harp Minter Elementary ($1,600).

“Thank you to the Kroger Corporation for sponsoring the “Earning Plus Learning” program and providing support to our education system,” says Crabapple Lane principal Doe Evans.
Accepting the award on behalf of Crabapple Lane Elementary were principal Doe Evans, and staff members Deb Grassi and Wendy Graf.
