0Sandy Creek AFJROTC Cadet Sam Evans is ready to take flight. Evans, a sophomore in his second year in JROTC with plans to be a pilot, is well on his way to his dream after winning a 2022 Air Force Academy Private Pilot License Scholarship.
The Air Force funded 200 scholarships for Air Force Flight Academy Private Pilot Scholarship Program for the 2022 academic year, and Evans is one of the winners. He will choose from among 24 summer university programs and attend for college credit and the opportunity to earn the private pilot certification/license valued at more than $20,000.
