Good will win in end

I wanted to vote for Obama simply because he is a black guy. Having a black fellow leading our country sends a message to the world. That even though we have stumbled a number of times since our humble beginnings, we do strive to achieve those ideals so elegantly proclaimed in the Declaration of Independence; and that we are still an exceptional, protean people capable of going beyond the prosaic and achieving the exceptional despite our faults and shortcomings.

I did not vote for him because deep down inside I prefer “trickle down” as opposed to “shake down.” Statism, the Nanny State makes for a lazy, complacent people. Indolence and complacency leads to the scuttling of creativity and innovation and the acceptance of the status quo.

The erstwhile Soviets of Russia had the right symbols, the hammer and sickle, but put them into the hands of the statists instead of the proletariat.

Leave the act of creating and reaping in the hands of a free people and not in the hands of the elitist that only know the nature of the world by viewing the passing from their lofty perch enshrouded in a haze of faulty thinking.

The ideas that influenced the formation of Western civilization as expressed by Jefferson in the Declaration of Independence must not be restricted but should be available for all mankind.

Ultimately the primacy of the individual will prevail.
