An area soldier who died in Afghanistan June 7 will be brought home through Falcon Field tomorrow, with an estimated time of arrival at 9:45 a.m.

Army Pfc. Brandon D. Goodine, 20, of Luthersville, died in Maiwand, Afghanistan in an explosion caused by an improvised explosive device. He was assigned to the 4th Squadron, 73rd Calvary Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 82nd Airborne Division in Fort Bragg, N.C.

A motorcade of law enforcement officers joined by the Patriot Guard Riders will lead the procession from Falcon Field which will go south on Dividend Drive, south on Ga. Highway 74 and north on Ga. Highway 85 into Fayetteville. Once in town, the procession will head east on Ga. Highway 54 to McDonough Road where it will leave the county limits.

It has become customary for citizens to line the route of the procession, some waving flags, to show their respect for our military’s heroes who gave their last measure of devotion to their country.

According to multiple media reports, Pfc. Goodine attended Henry County High School and leaves behind a 3-year-old daughter.
