Two juveniles are in custody and police are searching for a third after a crash of a stolen vehicle in Peachtree City early Sunday morning.
It happened around 2 a.m. when a Peachtree City police officer saw the suspects’ car coming out of a local neighborhood at a very high rate of speed. The driver kept his foot on the gas, surpassing 110 miles per hour in an attempt to flee from the pursuing officer, according to a spokesman with the Peachtree City Police Department.
The driver was unable to maintain control of the vehicle and ultimately crashed into a pole. Three people exited the car and attempted to flee on foot. Two of them were apprehended quickly, while the third escaped.
Police said the suspects were 15 years old and from Lithonia. The car they were in was stolen from Johns Creek and contained two stolen guns, one from DeKalb County and one from Cobb County. They had come to Peachtree City to break into cars, according to the PCPD spokesman.
The third suspect was still at large as of 10 a.m. Monday. Police put out a notice on social media Sunday to be on the lookout for a black teenage male who may be asking for a ride to the DeKalb area, and anyone who encounters him was instructed to call 911 immediately.

“My momma said nothing good happened after midnight, so I had to come home. At about 2 AM on Sunday Morning, one of our officers saw a vehicle barrel out of a local neighborhood like the devil was on their heels. When he tried to have a chat with the driver, they took off at speeds over 110 mph. Well, the driver’s skills rapidly deteriorated at higher speeds, and they wrecked into a pole. Three occupants ran from the car, and two were captured shortly thereafter. We expect to visit the third soon.
