State Representative Derrick Jackson (D-Tyrone) was sworn into office as a member of the Georgia House of Representatives on Thursday, June 29, 2023, for the 2023-2024 legislative term. The swearing-in ceremony marks the start of Rep. Jackson’s fourth term in the Georgia General Assembly.
“I am grateful for the chance to serve another term in the Georgia House of Representatives and am humbled by the trust bestowed upon me by those in our community,” said Rep. Jackson. “Serving in the state legislature is a privilege that I hold dear, and I am acutely aware of the immense responsibility it carries. I am excited to have this opportunity to serve again and shape policies on behalf of my constituents.”
The swearing-in ceremony marks the start of Rep. Jackson’s fourth term in the Georgia General Assembly. Rep. Jackson previously served in the Georgia House of Representatives from 2017 to 2022. He was reelected during a special election to succeed the late State Rep. Tish Naghise (D-Fayetteville).
Representative Derrick Jackson represents the citizens of District 68, which includes portions of Fayette and Fulton counties. He was first elected to the House of Representatives in 2016 and re-elected in 2022.
