Champions crowned at state tech competition

The leaderboard was filled with Fayette faces at the 2022 Georgia Student Technology Competition.

A total of five local students earned the title of state champion: Marc Van Zyl of McIntosh in 11/12th grade Device Modification, Luke Walters of Starr’s Mill in 11/12th grade Digital Photo Production, Siddhant Nahar of Oak Grove Elementary in 3rd/4th grade 3D Modeling, Sri Vishaka Senthilnathan of Peachtree City Elementary in 3rd/4th grade Device Modification, and Grace Darby of Peeples Elementary in 3rd/4th grade Internet Applications.

Two students earned individual 2nd place finishes: Mridula Gokul of Peachtree City Elementary in 5/6th grade Multimedia Applications and Aakash Bojanki of Peeples Elementary in 3/4th grade Robotics.

A trio of duos also placed 2nd: Sana Chitawala and Aspen Heist of McIntosh in 9/10th grade Video Production, Yide Dong and Parks Richardson of Peachtree City Elementary in 5/6th grade Digital Game Design, and Cara Greenberg and Angelica Bacigalupo of Oak Grove Elementary in 5/6th grade Internet Applications.

Flat Rock Middle’s Yashwin Krishna Ramesh Babu placed 3rd for 7/8th grade Mobile Apps.
