Local teams and students were in the thick of the victors at the Griffin RESA Regional Math Contest.

Starr’s Mill High won 1st place in Division II for medium schools, with Whitewater High in 3rd place. Sandy Creek High placed 3rd in Division I for smaller schools. McIntosh High finished 2nd in Division III for larger schools.

Among individual competitors, Tito Alofe of Starr’s Mill placed 3rd overall.

The Griffin RESA High School Math Contest is a regional competition among high schools in the Griffin RESA region which consists of the following school systems: Butts, Fayette, Henry, Lamar, Newton, Pike, Spalding, and Upson.
