Tigers soccer makes furry friends

The Fayette County High soccer program has gone to the dogs. Members of the girls and boys varsity squads teamed up to volunteer at Royal Animal Refuge, and they had a blast helping out the adoptable dogs.

Team members voted where to volunteer, and they settled on the local non-profit. They helped the staff walk the dogs and play with them in the yards for a rewarding experience filled with puppy dog kisses.

The players loved their visit, and they’re hoping to go back again this spring.

“This year I challenged my players to get out as a group and volunteer,” said Coach Jennifer Ross. “I hope they take away the importance of helping out in our community and giving back.”
