Collaboration and empowerment were on the agenda throughout Fayette County Public Schools’ inaugural Student Leadership Academy.

The goal of the Academy is to instill the students with strong leadership skills and equip them with the knowledge and tools necessary to impact those around them significantly. Sessions delved into topics like habit creation and leading change.

Participants learned how to form productive habits that enhance personal and academic lives. They explored strategies for effectively leading change and empowering themselves to become a catalyst for positive transformation within their school communities.

Meetings included etiquette consultant Margarette Coleman, Mike Rutherford talking strength and words, and Superintendent Dr. Jonathan Patterson focusing on habits.

The students finished up the cohort with a gathering led by school system Executive Director of Secretary Education Maggie Walls.

“We believe in your potential to lead, inspire, and create lasting change,” said Walls in introducing the Academy. “We look forward to supporting you throughout this program and watching you grow into the leaders we know you can be.”
