High school sports is only the beginning for a lucky few student-athletes. On National Signing Day on February 5, 36 Fayette high school students celebrated committing to compete at the collegiate level, and many more will continue to sign in coming months.
McIntosh High celebrated 13 college-bound Chiefs.
Amelia Angier signed with Georgia Southwestern State for softball. Ella Strickland signed with Georgia Southwestern State for soccer.
Two signed for baseball: Bennett Cherry with Salem Community College and Alex White with East Georgia. Two signed for boys lacrosse: Gavin Young with Emery-Riddle University and Aaron McCuin with Transylvania University.
Seven Chiefs signed for football: Chase Cromartie with Lenoir-Rhyne, Hollis Davidson with Auburn, Maddox Dykeman with Furman, Deyton Garner with Rhodes College, Jake Lutz with Minnesota, Zach Proffitt with Drake University, and Evan Ward with Virginia.

Emma Catherine Arnold signed with Mississippi College for softball. Emmie Bredahl signed with Emmanuel College for girls soccer. Aiden Clary signed with Young Harris College for boys soccer. Gabrielle Moore signed with LaGrange College for volleyball. Jared Moore signed with Arkansas State University for track & field. Kyle Rudolph signed with Michigan State University for baseball.
Sara Marshburn Sofia Marshburn signed with Central Michigan University for lacrosse. Three signed for boys lacrosse: Caleb Brown with Berry College, Alexander Mann with LaGrange College, and Henry Pettit with Air Force Academy.

Two Lady Wildcats signed for soccer: Kate Mitchell with Truett McConnell and Chloe Roberts with Columbus State University. Jayla Smith and Laney Sutherland signed with Columbus State for cheerleading.
Fayette County High honored 3 football players: Trennedy Whatley signed with Hutchinson Community College and Kahlil Allen and Trenton Kimble signed with Iowa Western Community College.
In December, Sandy Creek celebrated the signing of Dalen Penson, who will play football at Georgia Tech.
