Update: Due to recent weather and site mobilization the closure date will need to be pushed back from February 17, 2025, to February 24, 2025.
Beginning on or about February 17, 2025, a portion of Old Ivy will be closed to traffic from 220 Old Ivy to 230 Old Ivy for a 2017 SPLOST Category II, Tier II stormwater replacement project. The road is scheduled to reopen by June 2025, weather permitting. During this time all residents will have access to their homes via the detour route (map enclosed). Stormwater pipe replacement can be a lengthy process due to inclement weather, utility relocation and/or pipe installation around current utility lines. New structures providing a significantly longer structural life will be installed. Fayette County apologizes for any inconvenience this project may cause, but the work is necessary for the safety of the citizens and preservation of the County’s infrastructure.
