The National English Honor Society and the Creative Writing Club collaborate to foster a vibrant literary community at Whitewater High.

The clubs recently hosted published author Kate Chambers for an inspiring author talk. Chambers shared her insights into the writing process, answered questions, and offered valuable tips on how students can share their work with the world.

National English Honor Society (NEHS) is sponsored by Courtney Bales and Jenny Ross. The Creative Writing Club is sponsored by Christine Brand.

“The event was a fantastic opportunity for aspiring writers to learn directly from an experienced author,” said Bales. “Chambers’s presence was a testament to the clubs’ dedication to supporting young writers. Students were encouraged to take away not only practical writing advice but also the confidence to pursue their own creative projects.”

The event also included an NEHS Book Swap that reinforced a love for literature by allowing students to trade their favorite reads and discover new works.

“It was a celebration of storytelling and the power of words within the Whitewater High School community,” said Bales.
