Born in Mishawaka, Indiana, to William and Geraldine (Faulkenburg) Miller, both his parents and sister Patricia Chavez preceded him in death.

He is survived by his brother Paul (Kathy) Miller and sisters Miriam Geier and Carol Wright.

Richard’s heart found its match in Ann Ware after a memorable dance in Savannah, Georgia. Their love flourished, leading to a beautiful family that included four children: Mary Watts and Jeanette Rainwater, who now rest in Heaven with their mother, “Rick” Richard Jr. and Laura (Devoy) McKenzie, who carry on their legacy.

He was a proud grandfather to six grandchildren(Stefanie, James, Elizabeth, Brian, Shelbi and Richard III) and delighted in the joy of eight great-grandchildren.

After Ann’s passing, Richard found love again with Delois Elaine, who was a cherished companion until her passing two years ago. Their bond brought him comfort and joy in his later years.

A dedicated Air Force veteran, Richard “Too Tall” was trained as a jet engine mechanic, where he took pride in his craftsmanship. His dream job was at Delta Air Lines, where he worked the line and enjoyed the satisfaction of building a life for his family.

Richard “Dick” was also a proud member of American Legion Post 105, where he found camaraderie and lasting friendships with fellow veterans. To further support his cherished family, he utilized his skills in heating and air conditioning, ensuring their home was always a place of comfort. His talents as a carpenter not only enhanced his own home but also fostered connections within his community.

His deep Christian faith inspired him to contribute significantly to St. Philip Benizi Church in Jonesboro and St. Gabriel Church in Fayetteville, where he helped nurture and build both congregations. With “Delores” Elaine he attended Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Fayettevile, Ga.

Richard Miller’s legacy is one of unwavering love and service. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him, but his spirit will continue to inspire those he leaves behind.
