Police separate, arrest 2 men with guns at apartment complex

Peachtree City police intervened when an argument escalated to the point that bystanders feared it would be settled with bullets.

According to reports, on the evening of March 16, a call from dispatch went out to all units regarding a verbal altercation in progress with guns involved. Officers arrived at an apartment complex on Stevens Entry and separated the parties involved. After information was collected from them as well as witnesses, two arrests were made.

Jamal Dunn, 33, of Lithonia faces a felony charge of aggravated assault while Henry Dunn, 33, of Ellenwood has been charged with misdemeanor simple assault, according to the Fayette County Jail log.

Elsewhere in Peachtree City, an officer responded March 16 to a residence on Everhill, and the ensuing investigation led to the arrest of Justin Sullivan, 34, of Peachtree City on three felony drug charges as well as one count each of violating a family violence order and criminal trespass.

A traffic stop took place in the wee hours of March 15 on Hwy. 54 at Petrol Point due to moving and equipment violations. The odor of marijuana led to a. vehicle search, and a firearm was found. Freddy Williams, 50, of Jonesboro was arrested on a felony charge of possession of a weapon by a convicted felon.

A bad headlight was the reason for a March 14 traffic stop in the area of the NCR property off Hwy. 74. The driver was found to have a suspended license for failure to appear in court. A man, 29, was arrested on that charge.

An officer witnessed a vehicle collision March 15 near the intersection of Hwy. 54 and Hwy. 74. The investigation revealed that the driver who was at fault was under the influence of alcohol. The woman, 62, was arrested for DUI and taken to Fayette County Jail.
