Elizabeth “Liz” Ann Dicke, 64, passed away March 24, 2023, in the comfort of her home surrounded by her family.
She was born August 11, 1958, in Fairfield, Alabama to Elizabeth Catherine and Albert Steve Duchock. She grew up taking trips to her family’s river house on Warrior River, where she spent the days reading, playing canasta, and playing in the water.
Liz attended Auburn University and graduated summa cum laude with a degree in chemical engineering in 1980. She went on to work for Proctor & Gamble and eventually started her own tax consulting firm. Over the past 25+ years, she worked with more than 500 loyal clients who rallied and supported her in her final weeks.
Some of her hobbies included cruising with her son Chris where she would spend hours playing dominos at the Havana bar. She was also an expert at shopping and couponing (known to leave stores with her purchases and more money than she walked in with), cooking (in particular her family’s recipe of haluski), and most importantly: bunco. Liz was an integral part of multiple bunco communities, and she was a loyal and beloved friend to many.
Liz is predeceased by her mother and father and Molly and Stitch — two of her precious pups. She is survived by her three children: Amanda (Todd) Mink, Zachary (Katie) Alberts, and Christopher Dicke; her sister Milissa (Eddie) Majerik and niece Candie (Ryan) Humber; along with her three grandchildren Layna, Grant, and Lorie Mink and her sweet yorkie Annabelle.
A memorial service will be held at 9:00 AM on Friday, March 31, 2023, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Peachtree City. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM on Thursday, March 30, 2023, at the funeral home.
We welcome you to provide your condolences, thoughts, and memories of Liz on our Tribute Wall.
