The Black Student Association at Starr’s Mill High flipped the tables, serving the people who serve the students. For a special Friendsgiving event, club members made a meal to serve the school nutrition staff.
The event was the brainchild of Jataevion Arrington-Finley who wanted to give back to the staff he sees every morning. He presented his idea to the club, and they jumped at the idea to give back.
“I hope the students learned the importance of service and serving. The Lovely Lunch Ladies come in each morning and prepare both breakfast and lunch,” said school counselor and club sponsor Meshanna Marcus. “Just taking a couple hours out of their day positively impacted the ladies. They were very appreciative and emotional over how the students made and served them a meal.”
