Sandy Creek alum Smith gives back with backpack giveaway

Jabari Smith Jr., the recent number 3 overall pick in the NBA draft by the Houston Rockets, returned to his alma mater, Sandy Creek High, to hand out book bags, sign autographs, and pose for photos with fans.

Jabari Smith Jr. is off to launch his NBA career with the Houston Rockets, but he still found time to come home and give back to his community with a back-to-school backpack giveaway.

On August 1, Smith, the recent number 3 overall pick in the NBA draft, returned to his alma mater, Sandy Creek High. It was a massive turnout as families started showing up three hours early to line up in a queue that wrapped around the gymnasium to meet the rising star for autographs, photos, and to take home a free Adidas backpack.
