The Sara Harp Minter Elementary family shared their many blessings with the community. Students in 3rd grade recently sponsored a clothing drive for the I-58 Mission, collecting hats, gloves, scarves, socks, and pajamas to help people in need during the cold winter months.
Rather than having a gift exchange, the 3rd grade decided instead to brighten the holidays for others. It was a 100% student-led initiative, as they went on the morning announcements and made posters to advertise their project.
Minter families donated at least 20 boxes full of clothing to go to families in need in the Fayette and Coweta areas. This is the second year that 3rd grade students at Minter sponsored I-58 Mission, an organization that helps families in difficult times by providing clothing, food, and support during their difficult times.
“Our students were beyond thrilled to help others,” said 3rd grade teacher Eileen Corley. “Their faces lit up each morning as they placed items in our donation box!”
