The ballot for Peachtree City council elections this fall is crowded: 5 candidates are running for the open mayoral post, 4 are seeking the open Post 4 seat, and the sitting councilman is being challenged for the Post 3 seat.
Three council posts are up this fall in Fayetteville, but only one has any opposition.
Two seats are on the November ballot for Tyrone Council, but only one has opposition.
Qualifying closed for governing bodies for all Fayette County municipalities at 4:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 20.

Terry L. Ernst, 70, 704 Adderly Lane, retired from Peachtree City Police Department, has lived in Peachtree City for 31 years, is serving the final of two terms on the City Council.
Nicholas (Nick) Anthony Ferrante, 37, 906 Hip Pocket Rd., business to business sales, has lived in Peachtree City for seven years.
Eric Imker, 65, 2407 Ashford Park, retired, has lived in Peachtree City 18 years, served previously on the City Council.
Donnie (Don) O. Haddix, 70, 7 Dover Trail, no occupation listed, retired, has lived in Peachtree City for 34 years, previously served on the City Council and one term as mayor.
Kimberly (Kim) Kay Learnard, 61, 109 Loblolly Circle, director of Friends of LINC, Inc., has lived in Peachtree City for 21 years, previously served two terms on the City Council.
