Brandon Sherman has been promoted to Ameris Bank regional vice president community development manager, according to Ameris Bank Mortgage Services President Robert Odom. Ameris has three locations in Fayette County.
In this role, Sherman will be responsible for recruiting mortgage loan officers, originating loans, focusing on mortgage consumer direct efforts and partnering with groups across the bank and in the community to drive mortgage business, Odom said.
Sherman has over 25 years of experience in the financial services industry. Prior to being promoted, he was vice president branch manager of the Ameris Bank Fayetteville location.
“Brandon’s expertise in leadership, management and building relationships will be vital as he represents Ameris Bank Mortgage Services to ensure we reach all those in our community that need our help,” says Ameris Bank Mortgage Services President Robert Odom. “We are dedicated to and focused on our partnerships in the community, and we want our customers and potential customers to know how committed we are to them and assisting them on their homeownership journey.”
Sherman graduated from Point University with a bachelor of science degree in Christian ministries with a minor in human relations.
A dedicated and active community member, Sherman is the board treasurer for Fayette County Chamber of Commerce, board chair for United Way of Greater Atlanta (Fayette County), a board trustee of Young Harris College and a board member for City of Fayetteville Downtown Development Authority and Mainstreet Boards.
Additionally, Sherman is a member of Ameris Bank’s Diversity Task Force and is the co-chair of the BIPOC (Black, Indigenous and People of Color) employee resource group. He strives every day to live out his mission: helping people, restoring lives and shaping the future, Odom said.
