The Fayette County Commission on Dec. 10 voted unanimously to rezone 1.96 acres on Flat Creek Trail from R-70 (residential) to O-I (office institutional) to allow development of a fitness center and tennis instruction facility.
The 1.9-acre property on Flat Creek Trail is near Tyrone Road and is situated on property in front of the fire station.
The proposed building that will house the fitness center and tennis instruction facility shown on the concept plan is approximately 10,000 sq. ft. in size with 25 parking spaces.
There were no public comments on the rezoning request.
The Fayette County Planning Commission recommended approval, as did county planning staff.
