The Christmas events planned in Fayetteville on Dec. 5 have been cancelled due to concerns over Covid-19.

Due to concerns over the recent increase in Covid-19 cases in Georgia, Fayetteville’s Christmas on Main Street has been canceled for 2020, including the parade, tree lighting and visits with Santa. The event had been scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 5.

Safety measures had been incorporated into the event planning, but City Manager Ray Gibson said Wednesday afternoon the City leadership expressed concerns over continuing with the event due to escalating COVID-19 cases.
