Coronavirus infections have quarantined 5 staff members and 4 residents of 4 long-term care facilities in Fayette County, while in Coweta, 8 residents and 2 staff members in 2 facilities have been diagnosed with Covid-19, the respiratory illness caused by the new virus.
The Ga. Department of Community Health on April 17 released an update of the long-term care facilities in the state with one or more cases of Covid-19 involving residents or staff. The report lists 230 facilities statewide, with four of those in Fayette County and two in Coweta County.
The new report format lists the number of residents, Covid-19 positive residents, resident deaths and Covid-19 positive staff.
Local facilities in the report included:
Southland Health and Rehabilitation, a nursing home in Peachtree City, has 122 residents, with one resident testing positive.
Arbor Terrace, a personal care home in Peachtree City, has 57 residents, with two staff testing positive.
Ashley Glen Senior Living and Memory Care, a personal care home in Peachtree City, has 52 residents, with three residents and two staff testing positive.
Condor Health Lafayette, a nursing home in Fayetteville, has 133 residents, with one staff testing positive.
Newnan Health and Rehabilitation, a nursing home in Newnan, has 78 residents, with one staff testing positive.
Avalon Health and Rehabilitation, a nursing home in Newnan, has 73 residents, with eight residents and one staff testing positive.
The report shows COVID-19 cases in licensed nursing homes, assisted living communities and personal care homes of 25 beds or more based on data reported by the facilities to the DCH as of 2 p.m. on the date of the report. The data in this report is contingent on information received by the department. It is possible that a facility may report different numbers to other outlets based on the time of day information is released. This report is subject to change, according to DCH.
