The Real Life Center welcomed 35 families on opening day of their new 13,500 sq. ft. facility at 975 Highway 74 North in Tyrone. The new Real Life Center, constructed by South-Tree Enterprises, LLC, is located on the property of Dogwood Church, across from the center’s orchard and garden.

A ribbon cutting ceremony for the new Real Life Center facility is planned for Monday, May 13, at 5:30 p.m.

The new building offers a more spacious food pantry, bread pantry, clothing closet as well as a warehouse in which to serve people in our community who are struggling financially.

Another exciting feature of the new building is a spacious and well equipped classroom and kitchen in which families of the Real Life Center may earn extra food pantry visits by attending the weekly classes focused on emotional, physical, relational, spiritual and financial health. The classes also include cooking lessons to help families prepare homemade meals and encourage family time at the meal table.

The RLC orchard and garden is run entirely by volunteers. All the produce from the orchard and garden provide nutritious options for the families who are served by the Real Life Center. The orchard is open for U-Pick to the general community in the summer months where individuals and families even with small children can experience giving back by picking berries for the Real Life Center and in return, keeping a portion of what they pick.

The Real Life Center walks along families in both Fayette and Coweta County who are experiencing job loss, a health issue, death, divorce or other difficult life issues. In addition to meeting the initial needs of families, the food, clothing, and educational programs are designed to be a catalyst for real change with the end goal of reaching financial stability.

The community is welcome and encouraged to attend and tour the new space the Real Life Center will use to share hope with those in need.
