James J. (Jim) Bryant, 85, an Atlanta native and longtime resident of Fayetteville, passed away peacefully Saturday, August 11, 2018 at Southwest Christian Hospice.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Jane Martin Bryant; two brothers, Weyman Bryant of Fayetteville and George Bryant of Columbia, Tenn.
Jim was a loving father to Jennifer (Dan) Entrabartolo of Rome, Ga., Katherine Bryant Brannon of Dallas, Ga. and David (Whitney) Bryant of Johns Creek, Ga.; and grandfather to, Tiffany Patterson, Lee Walker, and Tadd (Jenny) Walker; teens, Garrett and Beth Brannon; youngsters, J. and Matthew Bryant; great-grandchildren, Emily Patterson, Gracie and Nick Walker; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Jim served in the United States Army during the Korean War and retired after 42 years from Delta Air Lines, the latter in management.
An avid fisherman, he also enjoyed building furniture and repairing almost anything mechanical. He was a fan of both baseball and football and coached little league baseball for both girls and boys.
Both young and older people will remember Jim as a kind, generous, and selfless man, whose greatest pleasure was helping others.
His remains will be cremated and there will be a family centered gathering held at a later date. Donations of remembrance may be made to Southwest Christian Hospice 7225 Lester Road Union City, Ga. 30291 or your favorite charity.
