The Fayette County Animal Shelter will soon implement a day fostering program for animals up for adoption.
Approved by the Fayette County Commission on a 5-0 vote, and with little discussion, the program will allow approved “fosters” to take animals from the shelter for from one to 60 days.
The foster caregiver will be required to sign a waiver and an agreement to allow the animal to be taken home. Approval is at the discretion of the animal shelter director.
Speaking on the item, Fayette County Humane Society President Stephanie Cohran said her organization supports the measure.
