Tommie Franklin Carr, 74, of Senoia passed away on Friday, June 15, 2018 at Piedmont-Newnan Hospital.

He was born on June 28, 1943 in Summerville, Ga. to the late James and Duffie Gallaway Carr.  He was retired from the City of Atlanta Fire Department, where he achieved the rank of Captain.  Tommie was of Methodist faith. He enjoyed photography and woodworking and was a member of the Newnan Wood Turning Association.

Tommie was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Theresa Souto Carr and his parents.

He is survived by his daughters, Kelly Carr and Beth Almany; his daughter by choice, Deborah Young; his grandchildren, Brandy Almany, Patrick Almany, Hannah Almany and Benjamin Almany; his great-grandson, Michael Covell; his sisters, Connie Sanders, Patti Adams, Sherri Wehner and Terri Shamtine.

His funeral service will be at 1 p.m. on Saturday, June 23, 2018 at Carl J. Mowell & Son Funeral Home, Fayetteville Chapel, with City of Atlanta Chaplain R. John officiating.  The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Friday, June 22, 2018 at the funeral home.
