Mr. James “Jimmy” Edward Marlowe, age 81, of Peachtree City went to be with his Savior on Thursday afternoon, February 8, 2018.

Jimmy was born on November 8, 1937 in Charleston, S. C. He was the son of late CC and Hilda Marlowe. Jimmy moved to Peachtree City in 1979 and worked in the paper industry until his retirement. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend to all.

He was a member of First Baptist Church in Peachtree City, Ga. and he also attended Wedowee Baptist Church while visiting his lake home.

He leaves behind his wife of 60 years, Dottie Marlowe; brother, George Marlowe (Amelia); sons, Jay Marlowe, Ben Marlowe (Terry) and daughters, Joye Marchman (Kevin) and Kim Coleman (Wayne); ten grandchildren and six great grandsons. He is preceded in death by his parents and sister, Goldie Moore.

Jimmy never met a stranger; everyone he met was a “good fella” but he truly was the “good fella” and always gave a helping hand. He enjoyed golfing, spending time with his family and telling story after story to anyone who would lend an ear. He knew how to “mess with ya” all in good fun and will be missed by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Guests and friends visited the family on Saturday, February 102018 at Carl J. Mowell & Son Funeral Home, Peachtree City.

Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m., Sunday, February 11, 2018 at First Baptist Church in Peachtree City.

Mr. Marlowe will be laid to rest in Westminister Memorial Gardens, Peachtree City  following the ceremony.
